What color should I paint the wall?

My daughter's nursery will be french provincial. I'm designing the room around the vintage lamp and Klimt print (see images). What color should I paint her nursery walls? Any rug ideas? Thanks!

I would do a mint green. If you want pink, you could that as well. As for rug, I saw this the other day from http://www.bluebellgray.com/shop/rugs/christine-rug/

I meant to add that I was thinking mint. Thank you for confirming I was on the right track :) The rug is very pretty but ships from England...

HI -- Your plans sound so nice . For a French Provincial room you could put applied moldings to make panels on the walls then paint the color -- here are some colors that might work . Benjamin Moore --"pink damask 890 -- pink bliss 2093-70 ---meadow mist 936 ---cucumber 428 ---green essence 853 . For a rug you could have a soft furry one in a cream . Perhaps Restoration Hardware shows something in their baby book . Lots of beautiful ideas there too.

Great lamp and Klimt print! The purple hue in the foreground of the Klimt painting would look really nice. If you think it's a bit too strong, maybe do just one accent wall in that color. It's basically the same color purple on the vintage lamp too. Great idea, best of luck!

I would go for something like Ben M "Amethyst Cream" because it would contrast well with all the green. You could always do a pale mint ceiling. How about a pink and white stripe rug?

Great idea from Genevieve. I totally forgot about Serena & Lilly. They have really nice paint colors and products as well.

Thank you all !! I love the mint and purple colors mentioned. I think I'm on the right track... now I just have to find the right rug. The Serena and Lily bedding is a great idea!

Klimt is one of my favorites artists! I'm not feeling the French provincial with this piece of art though?

What about something like this:

I like the idea of the wide striped rug - to add something a little more fresh and modern to the mix. Love the light purple walls.

What if you do a two tone horizontal white or cream stripe on the walls?

Consider getting away from green or pink. Your lovely piece might get "lost" in the room. Perhaps a rich mocha or in that tone, and use other accessories to highlight the color of your vase.
