    This is not my pic but I'll tell you that it's not the cedar shingles it's the frame that is flared.

    Thanks. Is this a difficult look to achieve? I have seen a few houses with this curved detail.

    Not really its done within the frame in this case it's very subtle. With a larger flare it can become more complex for the framer. Either way it's something that your framer will be able to address.

    Cedar Valley also makes a panel that is installed to flared blocking as well as prefabricated corners to make this type of installation easier.

    can this flared look only be accomplished using shingles or can it be done with the longer planks that you see on a lot of houses today?
