Need to replace this 18 yrs. old entertainment center

marsuca13August 16, 2013
But the problem is I hate wall units... I only kept this one because it blends in with the tile floor... I want to modernize it a bit. I also have this mammoth TV .. I will keep until breaks down but eventually it will be replaced too.. Anybody please help me with miraculous ideas... Low very low budget! Thanks!

Yes, it's time...that tv is way too high to be practical.

I cannot post a pic, but you should look for the new low and long type that float on the wall. Or the same look with legs. Kind of a mid century look. I bet someone else will come and post one, lol.

I agree with the previous comment :) maybe like a buffet table, enough room for storage and then have the tv either on top or floating above it :)
Hope this helps!

Ikea has a ton of low consoles. This one is $270.

lol, I guess I'm not as wasteful :) We bought our 5 piece entertainment center in 1990, it has nice lighted cabinets to display things. It also has a place to store wine glasses and bottles. Spent close to $2,000 for it when purchased in 1990, we are keeping it as long as it holds up. I have better things to spend my money that need to be replaced. Do people just toss furniture into landfills on this website?

Wow diyher, that's quite a judgemental assumption you are making there. How is someone wasteful by getting something new? Did we say for her to take it out to the landfill or something? By your standards, this website should not even have need to exist, we should all just live with things the way they are for the rest of our lives.

You have a low cabinet in the room in between two doors.........would you ever consider bringing THAT in to this room for the tv? It seems to be perfect for your needs! We will help find something else to go in that place instead.
