We just stained our wooden garage doors. We need to do our front door too... Should it match the garage doors?

Your entrance door is the focal point of the house so it should be different from your garage doors.

Hi....I agree with 7j Design, and think a glass door would be lovely. You need larger pots spilling over with flowers to add color to the entrance.

I am not changing out my $6,000 door... just want to know whether to stain the same or different.

$6000 door, woo... Since that door cost twice what I paid for a brand-new VW Rabbit in 1976, I recommend that you consult a professional. Where is Rockin' Fine Finish?

Gorgeous home! Love it! Since you have two garaged doors with a lot of spacial area in brown, I would not make them the focal point of the home. I feel the entry door should be focal. I would choose an accent color. I think I'd choose a warm midtone terra cotta tone to highlight the colors in the stone. Expensive door use an accent color.

Yes, it's an outrageous price for a front door... the previous owner actually told us he paid $10,000 for it but I find that hard to believe. And there are actually three garage doors (one is farther left), so there is a lot of brown.

I just worry about painting the door since it's stained now.

Stain it the same color as your garage doors. I've gotta get into the door business.

You can use a colored stain. Prepare well first. Must be sanded.

I wouldn't go too dark as it it highly shadowed in the recessed structure. You would need to get samples and check them at the door. Any color will appear darker because of lack of natural light. :)
