I definetly like the modern art studio, but my dream murphy bed would have a collapsible couch/chair on the front of it, so when the murphy was up, it could function as a seating area, but when the murphy is down, the couch folds up underneath it. It would have to have non-traditional arms, but I think cushions could still work. It wouldn't have to be just a wooden bench.

If you put a coffe table with wheels in front of it and glued down a vase full of fake flowers (so you could move it without the vase falling over) you could just drag it out when the murphy is down and make it a bench at the end of the bed. Also, if you hung a TV on the wall across from it, you could use the room as second entertaining room when the murphy was up, but when you go to bed, or when you have guests that use the bed, they could watch TV from the bed

I think this would work especially well in a college dorm (if the murphy was built as a freestanding shelf-unit rather than into the wall) or in a loft/studio apartment, many of which don't have an distiction between the living room and the bedroom.
