1978 home with dark stone fireplace
August 25, 2013 in Design Dilemma
Fireplace is center of the visual field. Looking to replace flooring in sunken living room (on one side) and entry/dining on the entry level. can i combine travertine tile on entry and hardwoods in sunken living room?

I say yes, you can combine the different flooring - especially since they are on different levels (sunken living / main level entry). I'd love an update on what you decided to do.

Agreed with keeping the flow from the foyer to the fireplace.
