Upholstered furniture for a beach condo

I have an oceanfront condo and a large family. I want beautifully upholstered furniture that can resist the damage done by damp bathing suits and sun screen. Is this the impossible dream??? I realize Sunbrella fabrics have come a long way..maybe that type of fabric is my best choice but I'd love shared advice.

We utilized Sunbrella on antique Chippendale dining chairs -- no worries about grandchildren's droppings. Love it! Even great uncle's red wine comes off!!

Thanks! I am very impressed by the new Sunbrella fabrics. I just think about wet bathing suits on the new sofa when I'm not looking and wonder if anything can stand up to that.

If you have any big box fabric stores near you (Michael's or Joann's) go in and check out the Sunbrella fabric lines today. They have some amazing choices.

I'd also recommend for some things, like bar stools, benches, ie furniture that is more casual, look into the faux leather fabrics, what we used to call naugahyde (sp?). I purchased a bunch on sale years ago for the corner nook I was some day going to make in my kitchen. I ended up using fabric and now have to find a use for the blue faux leather, LOL.

If you are handy, you could use the faux leather as a type of slipcover for the more used seating.
