I don't know what else to do. Should I do something else? what do you think the way it looks now? Does it look to plane?

It looks fabulous. The only change I would make is to remove the chairs and table and replace with a tall sculpture in bronze in the curve of the stair case.

Very sophisticated looking but I agree that the chairs need to be moved elsewhere. it makes the entry look more office than home. Modern lucite console would look great there. Maybe some one could photoshop bannister and bottom step in white. The wall sconces fight with the chandeleir. something simpler will allow the chandelier to really rock!

Fabulous .. No way is this space plain!

Agree with the others, tall floral arrangement & chairs should move to another area. A table or bench with a nice mirror to reflect all the "sparkliness" would look nice.

Adding the tall curvy chandelier made the biggest difference.

Masion Pompeii, Thanks so if I remove the sconces, what should I put there?

Thanks everyone for the help. Would this look better than the chairs? What do you think?

If the glamorous chandy is placed just right, a simple and elegant table like this one could sit in the curve of the stairs and be directly under it. Perhaps a metallic treatment, as seen here, would be a good replacement for the sconces on that wall. They don't seem to be detracting from the chandy in this pic.

Hi Marlyncv, I have been away. I would use simple rock crystal semi circle wall washers.

It seems as if all the furniture--whatever it is--should be in the concave portion of the staircase so as not to block traffic flow.

Given the abundant bling, concerns about things being too plain are unwarranted.

How much space is there from the staircase to the closest chair?

It looks like it may be a little tight...but if there is plenty of room to walk through...I voted leave it as is.

Beautiful and classy =)
