Is there any tile under the stacked stone? I love it!

Sarah, There is no tile beneath the stone. Look at the photo in this series of the diving rock. Notice the tile band stops at the stone. This is a detail I let the pool builder stand behind. The tile itself is a standard 6 inch by 6 inch swimming pool gray tile.

I am fairly certain that the plaster was a product called "Quartz Scapes" from NPT Pool products. It is probably a grey color because the color reflection is a bluish tint. This photo was taken early in the morning so colors look different as you progress through the day. Also, background colors influence the reflection. Go to a web site of CL Industries. They make a product called "Krystal Krete" and also a "Pebble Tec" product that is very popular but also an up-charge. CL Industries has an informative feature on their site that has a time-lapse photo sequence of a pool that shows the color variations throughout the day and also an explanation about plaster colors and how they influence water tint. Every site is different and to try to replicate a tint is difficult.
