Need Window Treatment Ideas
Lindsay Wanner
August 28, 2013 in Design Dilemma
I just painted my office a khaki color and am almost finished refurbishing an antique loveseat to be the focal point of the room. It's black metallic champagne colored trim. I am looking for window treatment ideas to match this color scheme (please ignore the ugly carpet). Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Sorry, I didn't post earlier because the crown molding is not up yet, and the room is messy (ha!). Here you go! I am eventually getting a different desk, probably white.

I really like what you have done with the sofa .
I think that wallpaper in black and cream would look great in the background and for the curtains long panels in black to compliment the sofa .

you could wallpaper just one wall ,where the sofa would be and paint the rest of the colour in the background ,here is an idea

Thanks Genevieve. It is my first refurb project. I really like black and white vertical striped curtains, but I think it might to much in this room. I like your suggestion for black curtains, but I'm also considering bring a third color into the mix if it will work. Thanks for your comment!

Genevieve, maybe Pergo flooring with a cute rug? I like Hollywood Regency style. Trying to pull this room together! :)

Great job! If you like Hollywood Regency then I think this room calls for a Damask fabric for curtains. I know you said you want to bring in some colour but using black and white curtains allows you to go with any colour you'd like. But I still included a fabric that matches your wall and has some blue and black accents.

Ooh I like the third one- that would look good with the color scheme. I'm also thinking of bringing in texture with a white furry throw pillow and plush rug. Thank you!

I thought the third one worked best also. Just a note......make sure the curtains are twice the size of each window and go all the way to the floor with a bit of pooling. Hollywood regency is very dramatic! Here's the link for the fabric - https://www.fabric.com/buy/uo-996/maco-indoor-outdoor-deveron-black-beige

Hollywood regency is also very opulent and rich. I think the blue from the peacock pillow would be very dramatic with the black and white and add some sparkle. Love the ostrich feather pillow!

Hot pink or turquoise for the accent color.

For the rug, you could go with a simple black and white pattern or a luxurious overdyed rug either neutral like your wall or in the accent colour you choose. I picked blue to go with my previous suggestion.

I love the idea of bringing in the peacock blue! And even the multi colored pillow too! That's what I needed because I can't seem to visualize that- until you suggested it, I couldn't figure out where to go with it all. And the first two rugs would work really well with the style also. Thanks!!!!

I'd go with a peacock/ turquoise as well. Bold enough to go with the sofa, but works well with the walls. For windows, do a cornice board across the top (from under crown to just below top of window trim) of both windows plus 8-10" on each side. Hang drapery panels on either side to frame the settee.

If you go with a white desk make sure it has some visual interest (fretwork or silver legs). A mirrored desk would definitely be in line with the Hollywood regency style.

And the final touch......a leather desk chair to add some more texture.

Did you happen to find out the name of the color of the gray paint? If so I also would love to know.

I would suggest something fun for your draperies but something that mixes well with any decor.
