Just moved to a new apartment and I never crossed my mind that my sofa is also the same color as the walls. I really like the wall colors. I am having a hard time decorating it. Would love to hear some ideas.

When you get a nice piece of art on the wall behind the couch and maybe a throw draped over the arm a little, you will love those colors together. The art will change the whole look in the room. Right now all you are seeing is the couch and the wall.

If you are considering abstract paintings I have all original pieces in my Etsy Shop -- I also offer customs ( I can create anything in the color you end up choosing). Let me know if you have any questions.

Gina, I'm not sure if I've mentioned it to you already, but I absolutely love your artwork.

Consider instead introducing more blue, gray and white tones in an artwork (see examples as a colour ref) above the sofa. Add a blue-gray cushion to the mix as well

Add big 40 x40 bold art in reds etc over sofa. Hang 5-6" above top. It really looks fine. Art will off set it.

Add gray and yellow trellis design panels to ends only of window. Keep verticals pushed back. Ugly

Where stool is add a glass table. And a tall lamp. With a gray base and white shade. Drum style.

I actually like the couch and the walls being the same. The walls will show off whatever art you choose and make it be a true focal point.

Can you take the top off the directors chair and put the wording facing the back? :)

This one by Gina looks good. That said, pick the art you love. Good art won't match your sofa. Also, any chance of replacing those vertical blinds with drapes?

You guys are amazing. Taking the blinds down now. Which color should I go for the drapes?

I kind of like what grover did for curtains!

White looks fine......see how nice the white in your blinds looks? It is just the style that does not work in this room.

Love the shadows of the plant from the uplight, by the way.

White is another good accent color in this room.....and works! Like the white pillows and some white in the art. A white lamp shade by the couch will add a good balance on that side of the couch.

I love all the yellow. White works well with it and you can easily add throw pillows in whichever accent colors you choose. Here's a few style options using teal, green and white or blue and yellow artwork. These are original paintings available in my etsy shop.

I toned the drapes down a bit. I would go a light natural color.
