should I do a weathered floor -beachy theme or maple floor-urban theme

I am doing a total renovation. have natural maple cabinets. Kitchen is totally open to living room. I will need ideas for fireplace wall and thinking of a whole accent wall of some textured material instead of paint,just not sure what theme to go with if it is beachy I'm thinking sand color rustic barn wood type distressed floors with light blue/beige accents with white billowy ceiling to floor curtains or more of an urban feel with natural maple floors but with dark dramatic chic/snazzy accents like copper,dark grays etc

I voted for the second option, but the reason is the floor color. I don't think the sand colored barn wood works with the cabinet color at all.

I'm not a fan of either. you need something darker to contrast with the cabinets. I also am not a fan of the copper tiles with the other tiles you selected.

the flooring gorgeous but the only thing I worry about the "barn wood" kinda look is, its a trend. flooring is pricey and before you k ow it, it might be out of style. like the light birch/maple trend look from the 90's. I dunno, just a thought.

We were trying to pull off the exact same look a week or two ago. We love natural wood and we fell in love with a light distressed laminate flooring that looks similar to yours. It just wasn't working. We tried different stains and colors and couldn't get it to work for some of the same reasons others have mentioned. We decided to keep the light floor and go with white cabinets and bluish greenish backsplash. I'm sad to loose the natural stained cabinets but you do want it to look right.
