Kitchen remodel: backsplash & hardware

Help....I am in the middle of remodeling my 'builder spec' kitchen and need help deciding on a backsplash and hardware. I am veering in the direction of a 6x12 natural white tile (the kind with a greenish tint) but am concerned that it is too trendy and will clash with the traditional feel of the adjoining family room, dining room and morning room (seen in photo). Can you make some suggestions for a backsplash and hardware? The countertops are Azul Platino granite and the cabinets are Maple Spice. I have included photos of the backsplash and pulls I had in mind; please tell me what you think

I think this hardware would look very nice in your kitchen. Traditional/modern look. Can you show a close up of your granite?

Here are the photos of what I had in mind....for the hardware should I go with a satin nickel or something dark like the oil rubbed bronze? Any help will be appreciated.

What a lovely room! I would go with satin nickel hardware to coordinate with your stainless steel. I would also look for a backsplash that has more punch to it....perhaps a stone that coordinates with your granite and your cupboards.

Hi Amanda, Congrats on your kitchen remodel ! Satin nickel hardware and the simple and elegant backsplash ( first photo in your post -- the "6x12 natural white tile (the kind with a greenish tint) " ? ) would look very nice with your kitchen. :)

Nice space! The stainless handles you picked would look very nice .... the solid green backsplash would work very well with your granite pulling the green from the stone. The small squares backsplash will be a bit too busy.

A light green subway would look nice too.

Congratulations on your new home!

Thanks Lynette; I have been looking at a mosaic tile but thought it may look too busy with the Azul Platino granite. I have attached a mosaic that I designed online at the Susan Jablon website.

What is the convention for choosing pulls or knobs? Should I use all pulls or all knobs or a combination of both.

Hi Amanda, in general, the bigger the surface area ( pull handles ), the easier it feels to pull open. The smaller the surface area ( knobs ), the more effort it feels to pull open. But a larger pull means more surface to clean, and a smaller knob also means less surface to clean. So it's a balance between functionality, aesthetics, and ease of maintenance. :)
