Why are all the dishes piled up on the counter while the dishwasher is there? Is it broken Lol? If you do get a new counter, get rid of some of the clutter so you can appreciate the new surface.

HI - Go out and have a look at the new big square deep single bowl sinks they have now . More room in them than the double bowl you have now . There are also some very professional looking single arm faucets now too. What kind of granite are you thinking of . Did you know you have up keep with granite -- it should be sealed every 6 months . Try looking at some quartz counter material , I think that might be the better choice for you . It looks like you have a very busy kitchen . And quartz is no-care and will last forever , and it's very popular now . I think you will like it .

If you're going to get new counter tops, be sure to also put in backsplashes up to the cabinets. The kitchen looks "unfinished" without both a backlash and cabinet trim moulding on top.

I think a nice medium tone granite with a simple subway back splash to the top cabinets would be nice- or a simple cesearstone quartz with a busier glass backsplash would be your too options. And definitely do a single basin 27-30" single bowl sink- those are life changing- and undermount so you can just sweep crumbs right on in the sink
