Beautiful renovation! Are the hanging iron supports for look or function? Are there additional supports hidden in the wall?

Also, how thick is the loft floor?

Thanks for the compliment and the question! Yes they are called tension rods. There is also a steel angle in the wall that attaches to the rim joist. The floor thickness is 4". Good luck with your project.
