Patio Problems!

workhardbeniceSeptember 21, 2013
Hello all!

We bought this sad mid-century fixer because it was begging to be brought back to life. The time has come to start thinking about the patio, which was installed before we moved in by a "professional", and you can see the quality of their work.

We wanted to blend traditional and mid-century to keep with the styling of the house, which leans more toward traditional with a 50s flair, but are stumped when it comes to our patio.

Any professional suggestions would be much appreciated! Thank you!

A traditional pergola and furniture would make the space.

Thank you both!! I think we are set with pergola ideas, but are stumped with the actual patio design. As you can see in my second photo, the brick was installed wrong and is falling out (among other things). We are kind of stuck between making it look as awesome as we know it can and not going overboard because its a starter home.

LB Interiors, I love the bluestone you posted...very MCM. We also love the look of concrete/ grass as a graphic element. It feels both modern and vintage.
