Please help me re-decorate my living room

I am on a budget...and was wondering if I could get any ideas on making my living room more cozy. Maybe different wall art, or what kinds of curtains? I have seriously been looking around for curtains for half year and found nothing...I don't know what to look for.

You don't say what colors you have in your space, so I'll assume your walls and furniture are neutral - browns, maybe? The easiest way to make a room cozy is with lots of pillows on the sofa and arm chairs. So let's try this for a color scheme - yellow, blue and hits of red. Curtains are from Target and pillows are from tonicliving.com.

Or you could try blue green. Again, lots of pillows in different patterns. The curtains and pillows are all Pier One. Do you have wall to wall carpeting? Or do you need an area rug? A picture of your room would be most helpful.

Some accessories: candles in lanterns or hurricane glass make an especially cozy accessory. Pottery, vases, urns... It is better to have just a few large pieces that have a lot of character than it is to have several small pieces.

A basket or two - something with texture - also makes a room feel cozy. Fill them with blankets or throws for winter TV watching. Almost every room can benefit from having a mirror - pick something with a warm metal frame, or an interesting wood frame. Earthy and organic materials also make a room feel warmer and more inviting. You can buy this kind of stuff anywhere - Home Goods, Pier One, Ikea.

Okay... Now they attached twice lol. The art is all from Pier One. There's lots of affordable art online too. Any art hanging over a sofa should take up about 75% of the space above it. Make a statement with the art - don't be skimpy. If the pieces are small, group two or three or more together.

More art. A group of four of these birds would look fantastic!
