I am so grateful for you answering this question. We have centered an expansion around this very photo and one local designer said the tile was hanging on a metal rail system. The tile people said it was black grout. I'm starting to think it just looks like space. Thank you so very much for your help. Also, is the brown below the hearth wood or the same metal that surrounds the fireplace. Thank you again.
