Dinning room lighting!
September 28, 2013 in Design Dilemma
I have a problem, the room I am using for the dinning room was not designed with a light in the ceiling. There is NO possible way to put one in. So.. No I'm left with this giant beautiful table and have no idea how to light it. Would talk floor lamps be funny in a dinning room??

Plug in chandeliers have come a long way. Could you use on of those? I'm thinking you could have an electrician (or yourself if desired) replace the cord so it is long enough to run up the wall and across the ceiling to the hook (you could use the cable concealing cord cover and paint the color of your walls and/or ceiling). Then suspend the chandelier form a hook. Just a thought!

If you have a wood framed/drywall home it should be possible to fish a wire through the wall and ceiling to allow you to install a chandelier. I have had some challenges over the years. So much depends on your budget.
