I like "wow" colors in powder rooms. We have BM dinner party in ours.

Counter tops are a gray "suede'" pattern laminate.
I plan on changing mirror, light fixtures and faucet.

Trying to update my 1990's ranch house to make it more marketable. Will probably change flooring too. Any suggestions?

I'd paint the sink base and trim white, add hardware, tile the floor in whatever looks well to you, and pick the wall colour from the floor choice. Limited palettes work best in small spaces, so rely on accessories to bring in additional shots of colour

If you are trying to make it more marketable, I would paint the cabinet white, and choose a wall color that flows with the rest of the house.

I agree white trim would be best, unfortunately the whole house has stained trim, doors, beams in the vaulted ceiling and wood blinds in all the windows.... once I start in one room, the rest of the house wouldn't match.

What's wrong with this flooring? It looks pretty good to me.
I would actually stain the cabinet espresso for a nice contrast, or a dark grey.

I think a faucet and hardware would help with the vanity match to your lighting and a new mirror will totally be better- is the trim in the house all the oak? What are the kitchen cabinets? A ceramic tile floor would look nice something with gray and the color of the oak in it- gray is totally in right now so you can make it work with a darker shade on the wall-

All of the cabinets in the house are oak in this same color.

But do not let that stop you from painting or staining the cabinet in your powder room. Not everything in a home has to match. In fact, I would not like my bathroom cabinets to be the same as my kitchen cabinets. But that is my personal opinion.
If you really like the cabinet colour as it is, you could add hardware to update the look. Another faucet would be a good update too.
If you do change the floor, it is best to choose a paint colour that goes with that new floor.

I wouldn't paint the trim or cabinet then- it might start an entire project, there is nothing wrong with cohesiveness- Murphy's oil soap is great for cleaning the cabinetry. A floor that ties the gray and the honey oak together would be nice and tie it all together in a neutral palette.
