Log Home Interior design ideas that are not shaby cabin or rustic

we are remodeling the kitchen and pruchasing new furniture for the living area. My contractor is going to ask me what style I want for the cabinets etc. I do not know as I have a log home with tounge and groove for walls and celings. All wood no paint. All ideas on the web are rustic or shabby cabin. I need to upgrade the style for simple clean living. Attached are some pics. Contractor may move kitchen door down to the window for more room.

I know you said no paint, but I thought the pictures would help anyway.

My husband built a few log homes years ago... they always went cheap and cheesy on the kitchen cabinets, it seems. I do like the ideas above. I do think they can look incredible.

It's good to see different placments of the island. Our Kitchen should be longer than what it is now when the move the door down. Also all windows above the sink area for more light. Thank you

Rhonda, a simple, clean style will work well with the busier log cabinet lines and details. Maybe a cabinet door style that is more on the simple shaker style, or even a split center panel door would give the space a nice look without having too many details. Also, make sure you have a nice contrast with the wood walls and the cabinetry. Here are a few pictures of some Dynasty Cabinetry door styles and colors that would work well with the wall/floor colors. Remember, styling can be changed by simple decorative details, cabinet door/drawer hardware and molding details. Best of Luck!

Looks like the cabinets are pretty nice. Would just simple paint do the job for you? With careful prep, they can look nice and be durable. New cabinets get expensive fast, and you can mix in some new ones if you are rearranging things.

I'm not sure what your style is. If cottage or eclectic isn't your thing, maybe mid-century modern would work for you.

Here are some pics of cabins with décor that I like.

These pics are from a 4500 sq ft log home. BY FAR, not a camp. :-)
Tough to see because of everything on the counters, but they're ubatuba granite (same as the rhomboid diamonds in the backsplash)
