Color help with a couch
Danielle Germond
October 2, 2013 in Design Dilemma
This couch has been in the family for many years and was then passed on to my husband, I have really fallen in love with it. But I have no idea what colors or shades would go well with it and I'm not sure if I should use solid pillows and curtains or if some kihd of pattern would be okay. Would love to have all your help!

Off white pillows & a light sage color area rug. This will brighten up your couch. Also, off white walls will work too.

if you could reupholster the soda to a solid color like this one, you can match the furniture in any room

You don't mention whether you want to paint the walls too. If you do, I like the idea of a soft Sage green, in a mid to light tone. Whether you paint the walls or not, you could do Sage green curtain panels, as in pic one. Pics two and three are a couple of rug choices - something with texture, and neutral tones that echo the gold and ecru in the background of the sofa fabric. A pillow with an oversized graphic print that somewhat relates to the fishing motif will be the perfect foil to this cute pattern!

There seems to be a few colors you could use. Choose the one you llike and get pillows.

Nice couch, the pattern is a tough one. It's very country cabin, so If that's a style that you like, that would be my suggestion for the direction you should go to design around it. If that is not your style, then you should have it reupholstered to a solid or a stripe. If not, then some solid pillows in colors pulled from the couch would be best, the red, the green and tan are best. Even a nice plaid pillow would match.
