Need help with this vaulted family room
October 3, 2013 in Design Dilemma
Can someone please help me figure out how to design this room? Where the tv and focal point should be? I'm looking for a similar picture if this room layout but can't find any.

The vaulted ceiling should not be a focal point, just a feeling of height, therefore, wall and ceiling should be painted the same color. The picture above the door, remove and bring into the space above or below the existing picture .

You might consider adding a wainscoting (or semi crown molding at the low point of the ceiling and wrapping it around the entire room. Paint the lower half a creamy buttery color and the ceiling and upper walls an off white.

Agreed with moving the artwork above the main door to the larger wall area in the foreground.
