how to include a washer dryer in a new bathroom
October 12, 2013 in Design Dilemma
I am designing a new 10X10 bathroom with a 6 feet glass shower, a vanity, a toilet and a bathtub. I would like to place the washer and dryer in that room without looking bulky. Any suggestions?

Do you already have a floor plan? It would be good to build a return wall into which you slide your washer/dryer (one on top of the other) to maximise space (and then have some sort of door in front of it).

This could end up being a game of Tetris! I suggest you cut out squares to represent the size of each element and then place them on square paper and move them around. This will enable you to immediately see what layout can be eliminated and what holds potential - or if something might have to go if it is all too squashed.
