I need help picking paint colors, preferably neutral. I am thinking of one color for the back wall and another for the tv unit. I appreciate any ideas.

Neutral wall colors? Several paint needs to be tried out on the walls for a few days to complement your furniture, carpet, etc. Try different gray, tans, off white. In order to suggest more fun ideas, photos of your furniture, area rugs etc is needed.

Whatever color palette you like, I would choose the more saturated color tone (darker) on the same palette for the fireplace wall and the lighter saturation tone on the walls.

Right now the only furniture I have in here is a chocolate brown couch and loveseat. We are installing natural acacia laminate flooring in the next couple of weeks.

Chocolate brown.... If it were me, I'd go with an actual color but sone nice neutrals are shaker beige, Manchester tan, revere pewter - all Benjamin Moore.

Walls look good. Paint TV unite a chocolate. For contrast. Use chocolate accessories. Why is TV so high and small?

Edgecomb Grey from Benjamin Moore works beautifully with or without light.

Paint behind TV a teal and teal around tiles on firepl. Rest chocolate. Remove all items from around TV and firepl. No toys. Replace with tall pots in white and chocolate. Add a few books in openings around firepl. right now very unorganized and no amt of paint will fix that.

I'm with Genevieve...not another beige or gray wall. The Kensington Blue is very pretty color and will work nicely with the brown sofa/loveseat. Accent pillows will color/pattern will bump up the style. But, if you must have brown/beige/neutral be sure to add some pattern, texture and maybe some sparkle so it's not boring.

I like pale colors with chocolate brown, more interesting but I think still work like neutrals.

Get a bigger TV that will fill space more. Or let's see all of wall to see if TV can go somewhere else.

I think chocolate is too dark and too much of a contrast. Go midtone.

Ben Moore chinaberry. I like this room as the opposing walls, which you seem to want are in the berry.
