Next decision: kitchen countertops

Aright, please weigh in on countertops. Going granite or quartzite. Was thinking about something resembling white marble, but now I'm afraid it might be too stark. I am looking at wood tone furnishings including a dark walnut tablet so maybe I am over-thinking that. Don't want too dark and don't want too busy. Maybe super white or Bianco Romano?

The white quartz would look classy. They have some that look like marble. Are your hardwood floors stained their finished color? If not, I think I'd stain it a bit darker medium brown.

Would you consider a blue? I think it would look great with your walls ad cabs.

iamjudy, I like that first option better, but I'm a little nervous I won't like it long-term.

It depends on your preferred style. You can go for a classic or contemporary white that will look great with proper accessories or you may prefer a contrasting color to offset an overload of white.

mmilos, yes, that's the floor color... It's red oak with a pecan stain.

Scott, thanks for those photos! Do you think if I keep it white, but add in a warmer backsplash and darker window treatment and furnishings, that might balance it out? Or look inconsistent?

I'm the worst with colors, but there's always the option of having a different color on the island than on the other countertops. I think your wall color would be enough to contrast with all the white, and you can opt for a backsplash on the entire area between the base and wall cabinets. Notice the grey in the photos I posted earlier? Google "white kitchen" for some ideas, but the smooth white looks like it would suit your kitchen nicely as long as you add some color in your décor.
