want universal access design so going no barrier shower; eliminate the tub, keep two sinks in the 84" counter top; what about flooring - ceramic tile or is there a wood I should consider

Because you are going to have a barrier free shower, the shower floor will merge with the bathroom floor......I recommend that the entire floor; bathroom and shower should be tile.
A porcelain tile is usually the strongest material. Try to find one with a slip resistant texture.
Take some samples home and get them wet and try them out with your bare feet to make sure that they really are not slippery when wet.

I am attaching some photos of a bathroom that we recently completed for Clients in San Clemente, CA with a barrier free walk in shower. There is no door to the shower and they love it..........
