The outside of the home I love, but it seems it's missing that extra something. Any ideas?

The garage door could be updated, but otherwise this house has good curb appeal.

Get garage door with window in same style as the top portion of your house window. Garage door with rows of rectangular raised panels

Good idea chesterbailey, something like the garage door below
Exterior - Front

You might want to have a different color
Rockaway Beach Remodel

Or go stained wood with the garage door color
woodlawn residence

Last one
DOE Cool Energy House - Florida

I put in "Clopay" garage door on the houzz search photos and you well see quite a few that have the window style that complement your existing windows.

Actually a nice rod iron door would compliment your place

@sang13, not so much of a change, but maybe something to add? The ideas of the updated garage were a great idea. And I didn't even think of a rod iron door. I'll have to take a look at those. Thanks for the idea!

That is exactly what I mean the long lines also compliment the lines of the front window, go for it.

It needs color in the landscape, and the meatball-shaped shrubs need to be allowed to grow into a more natural shape or be removed.

I would extend both shrub borders towards the street along the driveway, and use a mix of plants that can be left natural - ornamental grasses, some low ground covers, some flowering perennials like lavender .... get a good local garden book to see what's hardy in your area.

Texas? Some flowering trees, like crepe myrtle, and you can use the dwarf versions for flowering shrubs. Chitalpa (flowering hybrid of desert willow and catalpa) might work.

I feel like there is not enough landscaping there. It would be the artistic look to finish the front yard. I would enlarge the planted area next to the garage from the rear of the garage all the way to the sidewalk with a curved border line to add interest. In the area by the front door, you will need to add some plantings that will add different shapes, sizes and heights. It needs to have more planted there. Best wishes! Love the home!

@tsudhonimh, do you think if I extended the shrub borders towards the driveway that it would look kinda weird since it's on a gradual slope, or do you think it would be fine?
