Need help with dining room fixture
October 17, 2013 in Design Dilemma
Our kitchen and dining room are one big room separated by a peninsula. In the kitchen there is a rectangular fixture 38" wide over the sink. The distance from this light to the dining room light will be approximately 11.5 feet.

In the dining room, our table is 72" x 42". We are trying to decide between two styles of the same fixture. One is a rectangular light (23.5" x 11.5"). The other is a square light (16.5" square).

Although I am leaning towards the rectangular one, am wondering if that is too many rectangular shaped pieces in that area.

Any and all thoughts would be appreciated. Thank you.

The rectangle option fits better with the shape of the dining table.
