It was installed directly to the ceiling and broken up with 1x6 boards. I believe on another question on this photo is a more detailed description and a close up photo. Let me know if you can't find it.

Hi would you recommend using bead board for a ceiling or T1-11 plywood, and which is more cost effective? Thanks

Bead Board. T1-11 plywood is too rough, meant for exterior use.

Would you strip behind the bead board, say using a s4s or a small 1x ? I have 13 feet in height so I have the space. Just looking to be the most level as possible and for the best installation.
