I am looking for lighting for our open kitchen. The handles are stainless with black/brown cupboards. An island breaks ups the dining room and kitchen and island has granite and African redwood. Do the handles and lights need to match?

No, you don't have to match the handles to your light fixture finishes exactly. You can mix and match so long as the choices look good together, which I'm sure they will!
