Redo on MasterBath

I am redoing my masterbath after 19 years. I have had marble and am considering the same marble again as it is a formal bathroom. What is the best way to keep it looking good? Also, I am considering a sitdown area between the sinks for doing makeup but I do not know any friends that have this and was wondering the pros and cons. Thanks

Marble is really soft and as you know requires maintenance. Have you looked into porcelain tile that looks like marble?

I would reserve at least 36 in. between the 2 sinks so you don't hit your elbows on each side of the sinks.
