Contrasting ceiling paint for basement or not?
October 24, 2013
I am painting a basement rec room. The ceilings are mostly 8' tall except for the 2 ft. wide duct that runs along one wall the entire length of the room. It drops to 7' there. So, at the doorway to the room the ceiling is 7 feet. Would the room look larger if I painted the ceiling the same color as the walls or should I paint it white? If I should paint it white, should I also paint the dropped part of the ceiling white? Thanks in advance for your comments.

Upstairs, the trim and doors are painted white (as are the ceilings). Should I also paint the doors and trim white in the basement or stick with all one color? (BTW - The color I've chosen for the walls in the rec room is Restoration Hardware Latte)
