I think some artwork next to the fireplace would be a nice addition to your dining room.

What is on the wall opposite the window, just to get a better feel for the room. How about across from the fireplace......what is there?

Nice room!

Drapery rod not substantial enough to carry furniture. Drapes are also too light.

Centerpiece needs to be more weighty to carry chandelier. Something like this alone or filled with colored balls

Need photos of the other side of the room and other side of fp to comment.

OK........this is connected to the living room post. I remember the fireplace between the two rooms now and the chair in the corner.

Is it possible to turn the direction of the table at all? Will it fit the other way? That would open up the fireplace a BIT.

Is it a living room and dining room with a fireplace in between?

Would need to see other side of fireplace.

Sorry, I cannot make a recommendation without considering what else is in the room.

Thanks.

So you use all the chairs? Can you turn table and then take away 2 end chairs?

A mirror above the fireplace would brighten up the room and give the illusion that it is larger. Rectangular placed horizontally.

Cdr please look at my Living room pictures. There is no leaf. It's an awkward room that's been really difficult for me to figure out

I would add heavier drapery rod, full, rich panels with interesting roman shade under.

I definitely think you need to add artwork and a large area rug would really anchor the room

Can you paint the trim around the windows white? I would also add a bold rug and paint the ceiling in a gloss paint.

Here is what I would do for now:

dr:

1) Turn table sideways. 2 chairs on each side/no chairs on ends
2) Try placing 2 leftover chairs on either side of window

lr:

3) Try moving loveseat to face couch (they would be parallel to each other)/remove dark chair
4) If that doesn't work, remove love seat from room. Do you have 2 of those dark chairs that you can use instead of love seat?

More:

You have to look at this as one room with 2 vignettes. Therefore, all has to connect

1) as pcmom said, paint window trim and baseboards white
2) Something above the mirror the is reflective, but not a mirror per se.

24" in diameter. adds teal. What are the dimensions of the space above mirror?

http://www.ballarddesigns.com/verdigris-glass-mirror/wall-decor/mirrors/265649

39 1/2 " square

http://www.ballarddesigns.com/sacha-mirror/wall-decor/mirrors/224961

3) art on either side of dr table. 2 on each side. All frames same size.

4) art in lv-would have to see final config.

5) drapes with some texture and body-more substantial rods

6) centerpiece with some body and visual weight

Could you please try furniture arrangement and then we can go from there?
