We are rebuilding house after fire and wanted to get information on using PVC products vs wood for fascia and soffits. Has anyone used the PVC or is anyone building using it, any feedback would be great?

If you live in a fire prone area I would look into the fire characteristics of PVC. I have always heard the fumes from burning PVC will kill you quicker than the fire but have never validated this statement. From a maintenance standpoint PVC sounds like a good option.

I used PVC for my last renovation project. It looked fantastic....the curb appeal was like we had installed new wood! I did not know until I got within 3 or 4 feet that it was PVC. Of course the long term benefits of PVC will definitely come in handy from a maintenance perspective. So far, the new homeowners love it

PVC is a more durable option compared to wood.

No fire is not a problems we live in GA, ours was from the car to the house fire. I don't think anyone uses steel we only use wood or PVC.

Thanks for the reply. We also have a squirrel issue and they love chewing the wood. But I like the idea of it not rotting like previously it did. Thanks.
