Painting dilemma
berekannOctober 24, 2013
Just got this new sofa and loveseat. Stymied about color to paint the walls. One of the swatches i've painted? Or something different? The room is part of a great room concept, with kitchen and dining room. Showing paint with granite, too. Black kitchen cabinets.
Or should i return them and get "oyster"?

I think the color at the bottom right of the sofa looks best...is it a dark taupe? It would look great with the black kitchen cabinets too. can you get different throw pillows? I'm not crazy about those..they are too dainty and not the right color for the sofa. I would love to see the rest of your room. I think doing all blacks tans and creams would look beautiful.

I like the darkest beige color in the photo with your sofa. It will look good in the kitchen as well.

i LOVE the green on the right in the photo with your granite. as long as it doesn't go neon in the sunlight.
if it does, then i would do that, but 1-2 shades darker on the color card.

the beige/taupe color will make the sofa blend in with the wall. you'll probably end up hating it because everything will be beige and uninteresting.

Thanks. Those are my concerns - too bright and/or too muddy.
Think i'm going to exchange for oyster color. Much more flexibility. Life is too short!

A warm grey tone would go with kitchen counters and be a great neutral for living area....a bit more modern :). Nice space!

Finally decided - the paint i used in kitchen was blend of outback by Behr mixed with lemongrass by Sherwin Williams; great room, ryegrass by Behr

I like the taupe on top. Green could be a accent color like in kitchen.

Get pillows in print with wall color in them. Try Black and Tan also. Blue not working. Like color of sofa.

Travisinteriors - i think you are referring to the long swath of darker color? That is what i painted the room. Surprisingly, it looks lighter, more like the sofa. Am contemplating going darker.
Beige, taupe or black (good suggestion on color) lamp. Plus the pillows. For opposite wall, behind tv/shelving, perhaps orange paint (there is an orange ottoman i can get that is part of this furniture line. . .)
