Kitchen Aid mixer needs a lift!
October 31, 2013 in Design Dilemma
Have you installed an appliance lift yourself? What brand did you use, were there any pitfalls, and would you do it again? How big a cabinet did you put it in?
This will hold a Kitchen Aid mixer that weighs in at almost 25 lbs. We're having a small pre-fab retirement home built in another country, where the words "appliance lift" have not yet made it into the kitchen lexicon. My builder first said he'd do it, and has now stricken it from the plans.
Still, we're handy enough and my brother in law is a good carpenter, so I imagine we can handle this... But the cabinets are being specified now, and I need to make sure I end up with a big enough space --and a cab wall that is reinforced, if neccessary.
Words of wisdom?
