Doorknob finishes
November 1, 2013 in Design Dilemma
We are, room by room, updating our 3 bedroom 1960s house. Perhaps this is a silly question, (I just finished reading the thread regarding toilet paper :} ) but I was wondering about the finish of the doorknobs and other hardware in each of the rooms.... Should all that match throughout the house or match within that room? I finished our bathroom with oil rubbed bronze. Now I'm repurposing our 3rd bedroom into a project and TV with sleeper sofa and I want a lighter breezier feel. I would like to use the brushed nickel but I'm thinking that would not work since I've already got the oil rubbed bronze in the bathroom. Please tell me what finish for the hardware. Thanks for any input.

The door knobs should match but the interior of the room you could use a different finish.

I have used oil rubbed bronze in my bedroom, but brushed nickel in other rooms. Personally I think it works....
