I would invest in two new chairs rather than recovering the sofa. Nice stone fireplace !

I have to agree with Mark with getting two new chairs instead. The cost would be very close to the same and I am guessing not more than two sit on the couch anyway. It will change the whole flow in your area, too. Get a printed fabric and tie in the surrounding colors.

Love all the wood in your home! May I make two small suggestions? Switch the art on the mantle with the one next to the fireplace. The one on the mantle seems too tall there, but love the colors in the art on that side of the room. A few plates on the top of the cupboards in the kitchen seem too tall, too, and like they are crowded in to the area. That is small and it might just be fun to try nothing up there instead.

Rather than spend $$ covering it, I agree with the other posts about getting two chairs. Better yet, instead of spending major money, just add some accent pillows in a color(s) that pull out colors in the artwork, fireplace, and kitchen!

Thanks for all of your comments! I don't think getting rid of sofa would work when we ea lay on a sofa freq while watching tv (lazy aren't we) Art on mantle changes with a whim. I agree with top of cupboards, some is just storage and perhaps just too cluttered.

I'd pick a fabric that is close to the piping on your green sofa.

I'd kind of like to get away from the green and brown and go with something that would 'pop" as they say.

What about two recliners then???? Would that be comfy for watching tv? And the new recliners do not LOOK like the OLD ones.

I think if you went with brown velvet and colorful pillows, you could get a real wow factor from it. You could play with colors such as rust, teal and citron. If you are absolutely set on adding color with your upholstery fabric a slate blue or even teal blue could work.
