I am really struggling with what to do with these windows. Want to rid the red and want the fireplace to be the center focal point. I have two huge curtains flanking the doors. Any suggestions for roman shade replacement colors? Thank you!

Just take off all the window coverings unless privacy is an issue?

I would LOVE to have nothing but it places a glare on the tv screen :(

A woven shade is an option. Cordless Operation allows these woven shades to be raised, lowered and precisely positioned by gently pushing up or pulling down on the unobtrusive handle.

Remove the fake curtains, which definitely do not add to the look, and put new, light-colored roman shades on the doors to cut the light.

Light colored as in cream? White? Soft grey? What color best complements the fireplace?

I love the brown-upholstered chairs - sort of a Jacobean look.... so I would go with pale ecru silk, with enough body to be able to take and hold a pleat... will help with the roman shades (I have made these myself in the past).
For ready-made options, there are many; Ikea even makes them. But your room is very pretty, and I would go with custom.
