Anyone like playing with photoshop? Convert to flat roof & paint?

Wondering if anyone wants to tinker a bit. I'm considering removing the mansard shielding to leave this a flat room.

Going for a more modern look. FYI - Will also add 2 windows in between the floor 2 ones, change railing to cable railing, change pool brick to stone, and stain house charcoal grey. But mostly curious what a flat roof would look like.

Have you been up in the attic? That doesn't look like a simple applied mansard that can be stripped off revealing walls behind it. The top of the roof line is within the exterior wall perimeter implying the whole roof either sits on top of the wall top plates, or there's two pieces to it: applied mansard below the wall top plate and sloped roof structure above it. I'm guessing it's the former based on window head heights.

No harm in playing with visual ideas, but my suspicion is you're getting into restructuring your roof structure to do this, and you'll be best served getting a local qualified pro (Architect) involved now to help guide your ideas to be within your real of possibilities.

Thanks ReSquare. I will definitely be speaking to an architect at some point soon. FYI, here is the roof from above. It sticks up above the flat roof. Those things you see on the roof are skylights.

@petecon, Ok, that bird's eye makes much more sense of it. It definitely looks like it can be take off, but your roofline height would come down from what it is now. A parapet wall extension may be in order to maintain proportions of the elevations.

Good luck! If contemporary clean lines are what you are after I think you will have great opportunities here!
