Need help with Home Office.

I am working on designing my home office. I have a plan but I have difficulty visualizing the final look of the room after it's done. I need your thoughts on my plan so far:
1- Past wallpaper on the wall behind the lamp. I bought paintable patterned wall paper. It's off white but I can always paint the wallpaper any accent color.
2- I bought 2 bookshelves to put in that wall. The width of this wall is 80". The bookcases I got are 33" in width each so I will have about 17" between the 2 bookcases to display photos or whatever.
My dilemma now is where to place the desk. It is a relatively small desk (writing desk with a small Hutch. I can take off the hutch if necessary.

Looks like you have a lot of space. Is this a full time 8 hours a day office or an occasional use office?

An occasional use office. May be an hour or 2 a day.

The small desk may work fine for an hour or two a day. Much longer, and you'll need a larger desk. I would position the desk in front of the window or nearby, looking out the window. The windowsill is low enough for you to be able to see out easily. Choose some large artwork at least 24 by 36 inches (poster size) for maximum impact. Family photos can be enlarged for dramatic impact. Add a good desk lamp with flexibility and character. A small or large file cabinet with full extension drawers is worth the money.

The textured wallpaper is best used where you can see it. If it is buried behind bookcases, its impact is removed.
