We are remodeling 1910 craftsman kitchen. Considering honed granite and soapstone. Any thoughts on either one?

I'd look online and see the features of each regarding wear and maintenance and cost, of course, and then weigh the pros and cons.

Soapstone is probably more consistent with your Craftsman house. However, soapstone does have maintenance issues that you should understand. It tends to look worn, but it can be re-finished. For ultimate maintenance-free counters, consider using quartz such as Caesarstone.

If scratches and dings bother you, consider the honed granite. I have soapstone at beach house...much more casual, so perfect there.
