After suggestions on how I should decorate our entrance area. I have been thinking about using a lovely wall paper feature wall with either 1) Large Mirror 2) Piece of striking Art 3) 6 large photos' (photo/gallery wall). I'm looking for ideas on wall paper colours or paint? I want the entrance to be warm, welcoming and interesting. We are going to close in under the stairs making cupboards. I'm thinking of hanging a beautiful chandelier also.... The main area of the house has polished dark pine floor boards and I have decorated with a mix of contemporary with a touch of retro/shabby chic. All ideas welcome

as i can see you have got a dark floor,so i would like light colored wall against it,you may chose wall paper or accent color but make sure it looks bright..adding some images for your help.

Agreed with an accent / feature wall would be ideal.

I would love to share one of my favourite pieces from a hallway collection, but I also adore the accent/feature wall idea and the image that Dytecture shared. I think a better light fitting is needed too, to make it lighter, brighter and more current. Do you have glass in your front door?

I love the look of a large mirror behind a console, it's a bit unexpected and really helps to open up the space.
