Need help for Dining Room Chairs

moniem48November 14, 2013
Hello! I just purchased a new dining room set only to discover that the chairs are a bit uncomfortable. The problem are the backs of each chair; they extend out so much that anyone sitting in the chair can not lean back comfortably. While sitting in the chair (with your back perfectly straight) the back of the chair does not meet the person's back. Does that make sense? Any ideas or suggestions as to how I can resolve this? Would pillows look ridiculous? Thanks!

Pillows would certainly be the simplest solution to the problem. Without being able to see the scale and shape of the chairs, it is difficult to advise on size. Generally speaking, however, I would aim for a rectangular shape, probably about 8-12" high, such as the lumbar pillow shown.

Thank you! I didn't know whether or not pillows would look silly but I will see if I can find some nice ones. Thanks again for taking the time to respond! :)
