Living room help
November 16, 2013 in Design Dilemma
This is the new living room. I'd like to find some sort of cream or off-white that is warm but not beige to put on the walls! Any suggestions? Also, We have two leather chairs that are similar in color to this existing furniture as well as a uniquely shaped 'conversation couch' that's tan. I'm trying to figure out the best way to make this a warm & cozy & inviting room and not too traditional. Trying to figure out if it'd be better focusing on neutrals or introducing a lot of color or somewhere in between. I've already ordered a rug with longer shag that's also ivory/beige. One more question: my biggest disappointment in the house is that this fireplace is apparently just for "show" and is not even connected to the existing chimney. What on earth can I do with it? I LOVE working fireplaces and really want the same effect but not sure if gel fires or bioethanol fires are worthwhile looking into, I've never seen one in person before. I've also considered just a bunch of candles.
