Depending on the grey, you might be able to re-use the existing wall finish and window coverings, if you change the green carpet.

Hello there! If you are able to change out the Persian for a modern (and neutral) jute rug and go neutral on the walls, you would then have a nice base for just about any color scheme you like.

Ben Moore Classic Grey is so pale it reads as a chalky white -'a beautiful soft and muted color! I would use aqua and chartreuse in my accent pillows and maybe a solid chartreuse, or even a darker grey than your sofa, for the curtains.

Yes, Jayne, that's chartreuse! Or it's sometimes called citron. Very fresh and uplifting, don't you think? It's been a wildly popular accent color for a couple of years now.

Well I'm not desperate to keep it. Do you have better suggestions?

Jayne, If your green carpet is due to be changed anyway, and you must stay with wall to wall, consider getting carpeting that imitates the look of sisal. Get the Anso nylon with Stainguard protection for durability and really good stain resistance.

If you are changing the carpeting, go for hardwood flooring, not more carpet.

I was wondering that. It can get quite co,d in this old house in the winter so I was debating whether it would look cold. The rest of the house is tiled downstairs.

You could get a larger area rug - that would allow you to see the hardwood around the edges and still have the warmth. I think hardwood would look great with yellow and grey.
