Hello All
I just ordered silk white cafe style plantation shutters for all windows but need help dressing the sliders This room in open to living and kitchen I would appreciate input on wether I should remain with neutral drapes on sliders but my heart is saying color or a print The globes are changeable on light above table The colors in my home are soft beige pale gray green and accents of blue.
Any room changes appreciated!!

I can't tell the colors in your rug but I would frame each (set) of windows with a single width panel draperies pulling colors from your rug and living room. These drapes don't need to be wide enough to close and cover the window, just a panel to bring in some color. Even on the sliding glass door, I would put a panel on each side of the door but these would need to be large enough to close.

If you just want to add some color or pattern why not just hang panels on either side, you really won't need drapes with the shutters.

I agree. What is the purpose for drapes on the sliders? Decorative, privacy?

More recommendations:

1) Remove table runner
2) Remove the art----hung too high and just looks misplaced
3) Remove little table by window, if possble---crowding room

What type of style are you going for?

I like clean and uncluttered I'm not going to add any curtains on windows the shutters will be cafe style so they will be same height as existing cafes allowing sky line light sliders need something for privacy bench under window is necessary for storage and yes confessing much loved cat perch for my indoor only Maine coon
So no artwork at all I struggle with wall decor I know!!
Colors in rug are plenty black beige blue yellow more muted than bright would ditch that as well any source pics of suggestion would help

Shevaun, may I say something slightly off the subject? One of my majors is English, so I do have a little knowledge in that area. It would really benefit the reader if you would place periods in your sentences.

I had to read your last description several times and I am still not sure that I quite understand what you are saying. Thank you very much.

Window treatments: the cafe shutters will reduce the amount of light coming in, even when opened. Each slat reduces the light. Can you hang long drapes on both sides of slider as well as both sides of window. Also, what are your window treatment plans in adjacent area? They need to coordinate.

Rug: I would replace. Again, with what are we coordinating in adjacent areas?

Here is a rug that would update your space. I am not sure of your exact color, but it looks like this would fit. You don't want anything really loud here, as the space is small.

I never like rugs in DR, it's hard to move chairs and they get dirty with food. If you have a leaf in your table then the rug has to big enough to fit that it's just a pain. Get your color and pizazz from art and centerpiece on table and those drapery panels.

I really like West Elm's Tali curtains and their turning wood pendant for your space, but your room could use a pop of color. How about one of these rugs?

What about these? They are not West Elm, but country curtains.com.
