You didn't say what color the walls are so I'm guessing they are not orange or any other stand out color. So with neutral walls, I'd head in the direction of light gray or off white draperies. it's seldom that I would make a bold statement with draperies. Most frequently I would either keep them neutral or match the furniture.

Linda, From what you're describing, it sounds like you could use a pop of color in there! I would look for a print that picks up on the turquoise, and that works with the grey. I would maybe even introduce a third color such as citron or yellow, but then I love color! These patterns may not work at all, but just to give you some idea of where you could go with the turquoise and grey. (I'm a little more crazy with color than Carolyn:)))

Carolyn, I totally agree , and in my own home I stay very neutral with the "big ticket items". Plus I change out my pillows seasonally, so I need flexibility with the curtains there too.

This gal seems to be describing a space that is lacking in pattern (although I could be wrong), and has an overwhelming amount of grey with just a teeny weeny hit of accent color. I guess it was the image I conjured up (lacking an actual pic), but I immediately thought COLOR and PATTERN!

It's good that we voice different opinions and give houzzers a variety of choices.

I have a bit of a different approach and look to have my window treatments incorporate as much color as possible to afford versatility in color. I also like my fabrics to act as artwork when keeping furnishings and walls neutral. Not sure of your exact blues and grays, but here are a few choices from Duralee. The first is Pattern 42300-639 and the second 42300-20 both from the Overton Print collection. The third is 42259-296 (not pictured is also 680 colorway) from the Remy Collection

Nice fabrics if custom draperies are in the budget. I'd probably use them on pillows instead of draperies since I don't like to lock myself into definite color combinations on high ticket items.

Google the Ankara pond fabric... Stunning teal and it may work with what you are describing.
