What to do with brick wall and fireplace
November 30, 2013 in Design Dilemma
Hi! My first tackle I'd like to make in our new home is the family/living room with a fireplace. The room is pretty small. As you can see, the entire wall is red brick. The other walls are white as of now. The carpet is stained, I guess from the fireplace? You can see where they had a doormat. This room goes out to the deck. I was thinking a ceramic tile floor? Easy to clean? Or would wood be better? A bathroom separates this room from the kitchen so I could tie in the hallway with tile going towards kitchen. (Which will eventually need new floor). The hall around the corner, leading to foyer is already wood. And what about the brick? Should I dare paint it? I like things clean cut and simple. I like whites, creams, not a lot of color... just maybe an accent wall here n there. Any tips appreciated!
